Unfortunately I came down with intestinal flu this weekend and spent most of my time praying to the porcelain god. The final installment of this journal comic storyline won't come until next week. Stay tuned!

I realized that the last few comics I've done have been sort of a drag. It makes sense to me now that most of that stand out portions of my life, like many people, have been tragedies in my life. At least I remember them more vividly then other things because the traumatizing nature of the events. So to lighten the mood, I did a recent, more humorous, story of what happened to Angela and I on our 1st wedding anniversary night out to LB Steak house on Santana Row. Hopefully this trend of funnier stories continues.
Thanks again for reading,
P.S. Happy Birts Peewee!

A painting I did a while back for an article David Ma wrote for Wax Poetics. It's a great read about DJ Babu, one of the DJ's that inspired me and my friends when we first started learning to spin records and skratch. Check out the Wax Po article and David's website Nerdtorious.

Okay I lied! Here's one more caricature that my wife commissioned me to create. It's of my niece Izalah and it's her birthday this Friday. Her and I play a game called "Robot Octopus" where we pretend to be...well...robotic octopi. This should be my last one for a while but expect to see more other stuff coming this week. The next journal comic is coming soon so expect that some time this week.

Here we go again! I'm gonna give this journal comic another shot. This time it's gonna be a little different. Angela is helping for one and this time I'm gonna be recounting the last few years instead of what's currently happening to me. So I guess it's less a journal and more a autobiography. I'll start with the fire and work my way up to Lucy being born and see where it goes from there. Wish me luck!

I've been afforded the great opportunity to be a father for the first time in my life which has been one of the best, most rewarding and heart warming experiences ever while also being the most frustrating and maddening at the same time. And while Lucy has been my greatest creation to date, attention to her has left me little time to work on anything else. One of the more important projects to me in the last few years, showing my work on this blog, has been my journal comic which I hope to work on again soon. Unfortunately I do not think I'll be working on the caricatures again anytime soon since it requires way too much work and has very little in the way of pay-off. You never know though, if there is enough reaction to this post maybe they'll come back. As of now though, NO MORE CARICATURES!
Keep your eyes peeled though for more work to come!
Thanks again for reading,

One of my cousin in laws but and also one of the winners of the free caricatures at my show, Angelica,"Jelly", Carrasco.
Thank you to everyone who came out to my show this past weekend and especially to all those that helped make it possible! In particular, The Usuals, Bella, Monelle Reyes, and my wife, Angela, who all helped out way more than I expected them to. All the hard work payed off and the show was a great success! And also thanks again to all my customers. I got to sell some of my merch and some paintings which both did a lot better than I thought it would. Now only if that would translate to internet sales;)

I will be printing out a select few of the caricatures (10) to be in my show at the usuals. They will be special edition prints so get as many people to vote for your caricature so that it can be in the show. They will each be sold for $30 but if you happen to be the one in the caricature it will only cost you $10 (at the show only).
I will also be raffling off two free caricatures at the show to anyone that buys some of my merch or paintings. More details on that soon!
